Traditional Behind-the-Ear Hearing Aids
The classic behind-the-ear (BTE) design has withstood the test of time and is still an effective solution, even for people who have severe hearing loss. With a casing that protects the hearing aid, these BTE hearing aids are sturdy as well as versatile. These hearing aids can usually benefit most people with hearing loss.

Slim-Tubing Behind-the-Ear Hearing Aids
Also called open-fit hearing aids, these hearing aids can offer a great solution to those with mild to moderate hearing loss. While this is a similar, if more modern, design modeled off the BTE hearing aid, this open-fit design is less bulky, and it also helps counteract the occlusion effect, making things sound more natural.

Receiver-in-the-Canal Hearing Aids
These differ from slim-tubing hearing aids in that the receiver is separate from the other electronic parts. This design allows the speaker to rest inside the ear, while the other electronics are secured behind the ear. These hearing aids also use more updated technology than the traditional BTE hearing aid, reducing the occlusion effect.

Doctor of Audiology
I am a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, and a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. I obtained my doctorate in 2010 and have been practicing audiology ever since. I have worked with all populations from pediatric to geriatric. My focus professionally has been in amplification devices that help restore communication and hearing sensitivity, but I also have extensive knowledge in diagnostic testing for balance and nerve function of the hearing system. I have a passion for quality and competency of care for my patients. This is what sets Associates of Audiology apart from the rest. We hold our patients’ hearing health first above all else. My goal is to provide the best and most appropriate treatment plans with the most advanced technology on the market. I also work closely with primary medical practitioners and participate in most insurance plans.

Doctor of Audiology
I am a graduate of Salus University. I obtained my doctorate degree in 2007 from Pennsylvania College of Audiology, and I am a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the American Academy of Audiology, and the Academy of Doctors of Audiology. I have enjoyed specializing in amplification needs for all age groups. I strive to help others restore hearing and reconnect them with friends and families with the latest digital technology available. I additionally have experience with balance and neurological testing with the hearing system. It is my life's work to provide excellent hearing care for my patients.

Is hearing loss curable?
There is no “cure” for most forms of hearing loss. The condition is usually caused by natural wear and tear over time. However, treatment is still available through the use of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other listening devices.
Will I need a hearing aid if I have hearing loss?
This depends on the cause of your hearing loss. While most permanent forms of hearing loss require listening devices for treatment, there are some instances where the condition can be treated with medication or surgery.
How will I know what kind of hearing aid to get?
